Following a traffic safety conference, the Onslow County Sheriff's Office reached out about sovereign citizen training — encounters with sovereigns had become increasingly common for their officers and they wanted practical guidance on recognition and response.

The resulting course, taught to a class of about 30 officers and deputies, covered sovereign citizen identification, common tactics during traffic stops, paper terrorism, and how to prepare for a sovereign encounter before, during, and after. The group brought sharp real-world experience to the discussion and made for one of the more engaged classes in recent memory.
